TraumNovela is a film version of an alternative dance theater piece produced
by Max Losk and Juan Borona.
Original Stage Dance Show was created by Juan Borona (choreographer), Cris Buchner (director) and Bettina Sheppard (music, lyrics and musical direction) in 2007. The original show featured costumes from the collection of fashion designer Zaldy.
TraumNovela explores one man's spiral into obsession. This ‘Man’ finds himself in a strange nightclub populated by performers who may or may not be fragments of his own splintering mind. As he travels deeper within this strangely intriguing underworld in search of his lost wife, he encounters a Freudian dreamscape that changes him in ways he could never have imagined. This gloriously strange dance musical is inspired by Dream Story by Arthur Schnitzler.
TraumNovela original stage show had its premiere at The Dallas Hub Theater June 2007 then opened in New York City: September 22 – October 14 at the Barrow Street Theater and Barcelona, Spain in July 2008.
